Nikki—practicing witch, activist & badass esthetician.

Nikki is a fellow practicing witch, activist, and badass esthetician.

I’m really stoked for all of you to get to know a little more about her practice and her personal experiences. It was a no-brainer to have her in Ritual’s coven of talented and thoughtful practitioners.

Tell us a little bit about yourself, how you got started, and something you secretly enjoy?

I am made of stardust, like yourself. I imagine I got started the same way as you....transmigration. I think I must have been a real jerk in a past life and now I'm here to make amends and heal all that generational trauma. In this life cycle, I am currently an esthetician & makeup artist in Los Angeles. I have a great legal lover & partner, a dog & 2 cats. We live a pretty charmed life with travel, good food, good films, & comfy yet practical surroundings. I'm also a volunteer council person too, because I think giving back to the community is important (ie: I'm a masochist).

What is your Sun, Moon, and Rising sign-and how do you identify with each?

I am a Leo Rising, Taurus Sun & Aquarius Moon... I'm basically a fiery, airy person that loves to be pampered. I come in hot like my rising and go deep quickly thanks to my aqua moon, all while indulging in our favorite foods in lush, earthy, comfortable yet beautiful settings. I'm probably your favorite person to get dinner with, and after an hour you'll be good.

Describe yourself in five words?

Over-sharing, bearing & caring, witty & intense

The creative process is very purposeful with Ritual. With so much derivativeness, how do you find inspiration while honoring your authenticity?

Love this question. I am a creative person. It's in me to create, I find inspiration in anything & everything. The way a blooming red rose looks against a pink stucco wall. It's literally the color palette from my brand. I consume so much art, theater, music, film, travel, the mundane. And then pop, an idea... I try to drown out what others are doing, it's in my nature to try to be as original and niche as possible...

What is your favorite part of being an Esthetician? How long have you been in the industry?

I started my esthetician journey in 2017, but my career in the beauty industry started in 2004- so ummm a while. lol

I love providing a space for clients to really learn about their skin and how it functions as an organ. Lately, I really love giving MLD massage and watching clients lymph as they drift into a parasympathetic dreamy state.

What are your coveted skin essentials?

OCD oil cleanser, Blue Aura Cleansing water, a great hydrosol, a vitamin c serum, Resilient Skin Elixir, moisturizer, and SPF- currently love the Odacite SPF Mineral Drops. I keep it simple and consistent.

What does feminism mean to you and why is it important?

it's equal rights for all. Because it doesn't exist in American Society, and it should. Smash the patriarchy. Codifiy equality for all people no matter their sex, for fcks sake.
