Caitlin Of Caitlin Curiosity
I found Caitlin on Instagram about a year ago. Her humor and bright personality dragged me in.
I don’t normally follow wellness folx-to me they pour cloying. Needless to say we became fast friends. She is the opposite-real, funny, inspiring, and shows us it’s possible to make big leaps and follow your gut. Her cabin life and home workouts are uncompromisingly her!. Dare I say she is an expander of mine (Lacy Phillips term!)? If you’re looking for someone to make you feel right at home, like your sister from another mister, give this a read.
Tell us a little bit about yourself, what you do, and something you secretly enjoy?
For nearly 29 years, Phoenix and the desert were my home. But at the beginning of 2019, I began to feel a pull to a completely new adventure. One that aligned with my soul and didn’t leave me feeling burnt out, low, and disconnected. So in May of 2019, I found my dream home on a horse ranch in a town of 200 people in a state I had never been to - but somehow felt so deeply connected to. So I packed up my dogs, fit whatever belongings I could into my little hatchback, and made the 17 hour drive to my new home: a cabin located in northeast Oregon. It’s been the most soul-aligned decision I’ve ever made and truly magical. I’m beyond grateful to work for myself full-time as a holistic fitness coach and intuitive guide to those wishing to live a more soul-aligned, curious life. There’s not a whole lot I keep secret but one thing I’ve recently opened up about that most people didn’t know about me is I loooove to unwind with a few Bravo reality shows - specifically Vanderpump Rules and Real Housewives of New York.
What is your sun, moon, and rising sign? In what ways do you identify with each?
I’m a Cancer Sun with a Scorpio Moon and Capricorn Rising. I’m ultra sensitive when it comes to reading energy and what others are feeling. I credit a lot of this to my cancer sun and scorpio moon. My capricorn rising keeps me in check when it comes to running my own business because I need to be on my shit when it comes to staying organized. I’m also a Generator in Human Design so your girl neeeeds a to-do list or I’d just run around with the horses all day. My scorpio moon runs deep when it comes to tapping into my sexuality and connection to my body. And I have a lot of feelings (hi, cancer sun) but love to hide them (sup, scorpio moon) in order to ‘protect myself’. That scorpio moon loves to keep me from having to be vulnerable so I make a conscious effort to step and grow through that.

What does Health + Wellness mean to you?
I’ve been in the wellness industry for over 8 years now, originally beginning as an organic vegetable farmer. And boy, has it changed. So much so that I feel so disconnected from the word ‘wellness’ because of how white-washed, exclusive, and privileged it’s become. I more often than not use the term well-being these days because of it. And I believe our health and well-being are simple. It doesn’t need to cost us half our paychecks, it doesn’t need to have beautiful marketing, it doesn’t need to have its own podcast, it doesn’t need to have 100k+ followers on Instagram, and it doesn’t have to be decided by anyone else. We inherently know what’s best for our bodies but we’ve been sold to believe that someone else knows better. To me health and well-being is spending time in nature, disconnecting from technology, drinking water, moving and connecting to our bodies, challenging our minds, meditating, listening to our own intuition, loving and advocating for ourselves, loving and advocating for others, eating real foods, honoring our emotions, walking on the Earth barefoot, laughing, consciously communicating, kissing, touching, sweating, breathing, connecting outside of social media, and not just caring about our own wellness but the wellness of this planet we call home.
And finally, what does sisterhood/feminism mean to you + why is it important?
To me, sisterhood is love and support. Seeing the strength and beauty in your fellow sisters and wanting to see them do just as good as you. Nothing crushes me more than meeting someone I deeply admire, only to witness that old mindset of competition or ‘what can you do for me?’ mentality. Sisterhood is supporting each other, regardless of what the other person can do for you in return. It’s trust, communication, and advocating for each other. Advocating for those whose voices have systematically been silenced for decades. It’s accountability and forgiveness for when we f*ck up. And acceptance in one another. Seeing and loving the unique beauty within ourselves and our sisters.
